Multiple facilities / multiple years
From small towns to big cities, the people of Hearthside share a commitment to their communities and to each other. It’s part of the Hearthside culture.
The people of Hearthside are active in our local communities. Each location is empowered to select and support local or national causes they believe will make a difference. This grass roots approach impacts people in the communities where they work and live.
Hearthside culture encourages community participation. We believe giving back begins at the grassroots level. Each of the many causes we support is a local decision, made by the people actually raising the funds, doing the work and pitching in. Each facility has volunteer teams to help determine which local causes will be supported.
The process begins with local teams of employees choosing which of the many worthy causes in their communities to participate in. We know we can’t change the whole world, but we believe together we can make a difference where we work and live.
Participating in their local communities is something Hearthside employees believe in. We believe we can advance our careers, help the company be successful, and make our communities better places to work and live all at the same time. That’s a WIN-WIN-WIN. Are you ready to join a winning team?
Plants support annual events, ongoing monthly activities, and emergency relief efforts. Helping the homeless or hungry families is a focus of many facilities. Causes such as breast cancer are another many choose to support.
Our teams also support Earth Day and other green community initiatives. As a progressive and sustainable company, these issues are on the minds of many.
In 2015 Flint Michigan made national news with a lead drinking water crisis. While we had no plants there, our people organized an independent water drive to collect and deliver drinking water for Flint residents.
Some causes include company sponsorship; others are done through people volunteering for a common good. Either way, the community wins.
In addition to this partial list, there are many smaller, regional, local and unknown causes, drives, and other events for deserving individuals, families, and groups in the communities where we live and work.
In the past 12 months, the Hearthside’s employees have given more than $100,000 to charities, causes, and good works. We are even more respectful of the many hours of volunteerism, dedication, and commitment to giving back exhibited by our people.
Giving back. It’s part of the Hearthside culture.
